I lost a few hours yesterday researching underwater cameras again. And again I ended up frustrated because there doesn’t seem to be a camera for my purpose. I really don’t want to invest hundreds to watch newts in a tiny pond and less expensive cameras seem to be intended for cycling and holiday scuba snaps.
So I was interested to read a thread on cheap solutions and a suggestion to try an industrial endoscope. At less than £30, not so much to lose if it didn’t work…

It arrived. A nicely packaged Hopefox Wifi Endoscope… and 20 minutes later it was in the pond and its super bright LEDs were highlighting exactly how much blanket weed I’m dealing with.
Aside from that ongoing issue, it also caught up with the lone tadpole. A big round one; presumably a Peter Pan which stays in the pond, never growing legs. I also got a close up view of the lily flower I mentioned in the last post, ready to emerge in the next few days.
