91 Meditation rain

Today I spent some time leaning on the windowsill, watching rain on Lion Pond and allowing my mind to wander, to leave concerns behind, and to just be in the moment.

I have always enjoyed gentle rain, having been brought up to associate freedom and holidays with the damp fresh air of a Lake District morning. For me there’s nothing more calming than the pattering of rain on canvas or on a caravan roof.

The rain eased off and I decided to capture the sounds and visuals for this blog post. Of course, as soon as I went outside, the rain came down more insistently and I got absolutely soaked as I kept recording. But that was fine too; the feel of the cool rain on me after the parched few days we’ve had was a joy. I hope you can share the experience. Feel a little calmer, or a little more focused, perhaps more able to be reflective; whatever you need right now.
