This is a blog about frogs and other pond wildlife.
In 2022 I created a tiny pond and by spring 2023 I had a tiny pond with hundreds of tadpoles thanks to a local friend and a large bucket.
Later in 2023 I created a slightly larger pond, Lily Pond, which proved to be a haven for newts in 2024. And by October 2024, I had created three small ponds, with the addition of Lion Pond. It had become a bit addictive. I’d look at a dull bit of the garden where the plants weren’t working well and I’d think ‘that could be a little pond’.
In spring this year the cycle was completed with mature frogs spawning in Tiny Pond and Lily Pond. And now in summer 2025 the tadpoles have mostly moved onto land as froglets again.
There’s always something to watch or notice and watching nature in action can be a very relaxing thing to do. So, to follow the blog, you can go to the start or the latest blog, or choose from the Archive (click below).
