85 Plant life, moths and caterpillars

The ponds are healthy and full since we had some very welcome rain. The flowers and shrubs have appreciated the rain too and, while the frogs are elusive, here are some more garden jewels.

While exploring the plant life, I also came across this photogenic visitor, enjoying the flowers of the Pyracantha (Firethorn) which are looking particularly good this year. I think it’s a yellow-tail moth caterpillar.

Then I nearly stepped on this beauty. It’s a Scarlet Tiger moth (Callimorpha dominula). For more detailed information, visit the Butterfly Conservation website
