Having cleaned out Tiny Pond (see Blog 80), here are two pictures of the new floating plants that arrived by post a few days ago to help with oxygenation. They will also create added hiding places for tadpoles and should multiply over the next few weeks.

Along with the pond plants, the Ebay seller (tinyfishes567) included some plant food and some pieces of food suitable for fish and snails, so I dropped those in too. The tadpoles loved it! Everything arrived in sealed packages and the plants were damp and fresh. I’d certainly recommend the seller.

There’s a resident frog in Tiny Pond. I disturbed it a little while cleaning but it seems to have settled back in. It’s a bit quick for me though, so here’s the usual resident frog in Lily Pond in the usual shady resting spot. S/he seems okay with me filming as long as I don’t get too close.
I thought I’d share a couple of clips of Lily Pond in the afternoon heat today, a buzzing haven for wildlife. It’s a wonderful noisy, peaceful place and even the nearby fence, creaking under a limb of the ornamental pear tree, has a meditative quality. When I created Lily Pond, I had no idea how quickly it would settle into its own natural rhythm.

And finally, here’s a picture of Lion Pond in the late afternoon with Myosotis (forget-me-not) and Anthemis cupaniana filling the scene in nicely. It’s lovely to just sit and take it all in as the day’s stresses drain away.
