


The rain has finally stopped. The ponds are full to the brim but they are quieter now as the froglets have literally found their feet and are now settling into damp hiding places on land. But, while the froglets have gone, the pond snails seem to be as abundant as ever, backswimmers are ruling the water surface, and there are still quite a few tadpoles, some probably destined to keep their tails due to lacking the enzyme for metamorphosis.




Without the distraction of the wildlife, I’ve focused more closely on the visual impact of the ponds and planting and have captured a few art shots. Here are some close-up images of lily pads after the rain…
