
No, I haven’t seen any baby swans on my pond. I haven’t seen any froglets either for that matter, so it’s been a bit quiet. Anyway, I’ve been to a much bigger pond today, to sail SAVVAR, our Red Fox 200E.
The ‘pond’ is Rutland Water, a reservoir managed by Anglian Water and serving the East of England. It was created in the 1970s and is a protected nature reserve, notable for its nesting Osprey and the recent discovery of a large ichthyosaur. It is also known for Normanton Church which was part submerged when the reservoir was created, and it is a noted location for a wide range of water sports.


We had mixed weather and, in between sailing moments, I had some time to capture some of the wildlife. All of the video clips below were taken while afloat, which is why the camera is moving slightly, so apologies for that.
