89 Frog on a lily pad

At last, my dream of seeing a frog sitting on a lily pad on one of my ponds comes true. It’s not quite the dream though, because the lily pad is big and the frog is very small indeed. Hardly visible in fact. Still… it’s a first and, as such, worth recording.

Here it is, sitting in the shade of the flying hedgehogs on a damp lily pad on the far side of Lion Pond. And, here are some closer shots of this froglet and some of its friends still staying as cool as possible on camouflage rock.

Froglets on the move. The sound track to the first clip is John scraping moss off the steps near the pond with a trowel. Thankfully, the second clip has the more usual, and more attractive, birdsong.

It was over 30 degrees today, so I took some quick shots and then left them in peace. I didn’t want to cause any more stress as keeping cool is a challenge for all of us at the moment.
